I was born Hawaiian and named Kamalei which means “beloved child”. This is a photo of me between two of my aunts (Leilana and Anela) taken in 1940 in Honolulu. We lived on a pineapple plantation that my grandparents owned just off Kamehameha Highway in Oahu.

Remind me please! I must stop watching early morning news before I get out of bed; it can ruin a day before it even begins. This morning I caught a bit about taxpayer-funded PBS (Public Broadcasting System) pushing to teach sex-ed to 4-year-olds. When did sanity leave this planet?
